Miniature American Shepherds

A new litter arrived January 19!

The latest Rocking J litter was born recently and it is a LOVELY litter.  Two friendly, outgoing boys are still available!

Millie and Ruckus are the proud parents of eight beautiful, healthy pups. See litter's invidual page for more information.

See the "NEWS" section below for other things happening at Rocking J!

News!! News!!  News!!

I have been busy over the past few months building a kennel barn so that I can relocate my breeding program to the family farm in Rogersville, AL, about 45 miles from my current location.  I am getting close to completing the project and, once moved, expect to see some additional bloodlines added to (hopefully) compliment my lines.

I have also entered in to a co-own agreement with a couple of my breeding friends on a lovely blue merle male adult.  He is living in the Beaumont TX area and is available for stud to select females.  He is the sire to my present litter out of Millie.  To say I am anxious to see these babies grow is an understatement!

In mid March, a new female will be arriving from the Picasso breeding program in Surprise, AZ.  I cannot wait to see this little girl grow up and hopefully hit the show ring later in 2018!!!

As far as future litters in 2018, I hope to breed Annie and Paige.  Both should have late summer/early fall litters.  Annie is a Cricket daughter.  Paige has her own page on this website.

The Adult Dogs of Rocking J

In 2014, I made the decision to register all of my Mini Aussies with AKC (American Kennel Club) as Miniature American Shepherds.  This allowed my Miniature Australian Shepherds to be recognized by AKC and allows them opportunities to compete in a wider array of competitive venues offered by AKC.  This does not change who my dogs are.  Their pedigrees are that of full sized Australian Shepherds (including Legacy, Mill Creek, Timberline, and Three Oaks lines) crossed with dogs carrying the foundation Mini Aussie lines of Pockets, Coat Tails, Southern Cross, and TMR.  Technically, since July 1, 2015, they are a separate breed, but they are the same beautiful and talented dogs they have always been, but they have a new name.
